Inchcape Motor Polska - A leading and award-winning BMW and Mini dealer

Together with the HR department of Inchcape Motor Polska, we have developed a development program for managers and leaders: Inchcape Manager Academy. The program lasts almost 1.5 years and consists of 10 training modules carried out periodically. To increase the effectiveness of the project, we also included the Extended Learning platform in it. We wanted the development process to translate directly into the daily work of managers, so that as much as possible of what they learned would be implemented.
Thanks to Extended Learning, we planned tasks to prepare participants before each of the modules of the Academy, as well as implementation and knowledge retention tasks after each module. Thanks to the unique approach to the project and the functionalities offered by Extended Learning, we were able to respond to the needs and opportunities that appeared on an ongoing basis. We systematically matched the tasks to the specifics of the company and the work of each of the managers participating in the Academy. Extended Learning also made it possible for us to easily involve the supervisors of the participants, who not only supported the learning of managers, but also motivated them to apply new skills at work.
The tool worked perfectly in an organization that operates in three locations and has several functional departments. Extended Learning acted as a kind of glue that brought together ten training modules. The involvement of the participants’ superiors resulted in greater motivation to learn and implement what the managers learned at work. The platform also proved to be a kind of social learning tool, where managers from the same functional departments in different locations could exchange their insights and ideas for implementing innovations and changes.

  • From the perspective of your department and your goals, what problems or challenges can you work on thanks to the introduction of the Extended Learning platform?

    Elżbieta Sieńko: Extended Learning in the long run will cause employees to regularly use our internal system Customer Relationship Management, dedicated to work in VW and Audi service.

    What is the benefit of working with the Extended Learning Platform from the perspective of the entire company?

    E.S.: The tasks performed by employees allow us to monitor the work of individual employees and assess their current commitment and regularity. Anna Kraszewska: Building employee awareness – awareness of challenges, awareness of benefits, building a conscious team. It’s extremely important. Thanks to reporting tasks directly on the Platform, employees have the opportunity to compare work results every day. They see how the best work – this is a good example. Daily tasks on the Platform allow you to develop regularity and other desired employee behavior.

    Tasks on the Platform are perceived by many employees as an additional duty; how do you manage to get them to do the tasks posted there?

    A.K.: This is usually the problem. In this situation, through presentations and conversations preceding the introduction of the Extended Learning Platform, we have achieved high awareness of the team as to the goals of the project and the expected commitment. We support each other on an ongoing basis by stimulating the consistent implementation of tasks, consolidating habits, constant control – all these elements work together and give effect. Without the involvement of superiors, this change would not be possible.

    E.S.: Individual benefits for the employees themselves include improving their own competences, changing the approach to new challenges and changes , realizing the measurable benefits of the proper operation of the CRM system for the company and for the employee, better communication in the team. The elements of competition included in the tasks on the platform result in greater activity and a positive approach to tasks.

    What else can you say about the platform itself and cooperation with PAIZ?

    E.S.: Extended Learning gives you the ability to constantly observe and comment on an ongoing basis. This constant interaction makes the employee aware that his progress can be seen “in the palm of his hand”. The structure of the exercises also forces systematic work and commitment. Supervision over the activities on the platform is a “double check”, because the principle is the involvement of trainers on the part of PAIZ and the company whose employees take part in the training, especially their superiors.

    A.K.: The benefits we can already see: a better prepared employee, regularly using the CRM tool , a higher level of service, building better relationships with clients and colleagues, greater job satisfaction resulting from the change – what has been a problem so far is the beginning of a positive change.
